Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is cleaning house.

Bottoms has asked for the resignation of all cabinet members, “and after further assessment will determine which resignations I will accept,” she said in a statement Monday evening. She has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday afternoon where she will “make a major announcement on transparency in Atlanta’s government.”

“Consistent with what I said upon taking office in January, I have taken the first 100 days to evaluate the leadership of my Administration. There are many talented leaders within the City, and I look forward to continuing to work towards creating the team that best reflects alignment with the goals and opportunities we look to pursue over the next four years,” Bottoms said.

Sources told Fox 5 that the actions are not related to last week’s federal corruption indictment of former Atlanta city employee Mitzi Bickers.

Bottoms, who will have been in office 100 days on April 11, received the mayoral endorsement from former Mayor Kasim Reed, who was mired in a federal investigation into corruption at City Hall over his final months. In a Q&A with Atlanta Magazine last week, Bottoms discussed issues of transparency in the city and the notion that she would be a “puppet” for Reed.

After taking the oath of office in January, Bottoms listed a $1 billion housing affordability plan, ethics reform and an improved partnership with Atlanta Public Schools at the top of her priority list.

Bottoms also pledged to continue the momentum begun by her predecessor in areas including transit expansion, the city’s financial health and Atlanta’s sustainability efforts.
